The Australian Junior Speedway Solo Championships slides into Mildura’s Olympic Park from Thursday 18 January till Sunday 21 January. Australia’s best Speedway riders 21 years and younger will light up Olympic Park with exhilarating speedway racing.

Olympic Park will host an action packed weekend with Australia’s elite junior speedway riders competing in the solo Under-16 125cc, 250cc, Under-21 500cc and the Under-16 125cc teams championship. (Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and New South Wales)

Thursday night will kick off with the Under-16 125cc practice runs before the action really heats up on Friday night with the finals for the class.

Friday will also see the qualifying for the Under-21 500cc class, with a star studded field of 16 riders vying for the remaining six spots in Saturday night’s final.  Saturday’s final is expected to be highly entertaining and competitive with two-time world champion Matthew ‘Happy’ Gilmore leading the field.

A huge boost in entries for the Under-16 250cc class will see a much bigger field than in 2017, and the racing is set to go to another level with last season’s runner up Keynan Rew looking to go one better in 2018.

The weekend will conclude on Sunday with the Under-16 125cc Team Championship taking to Olympic Park. Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales will be represented. New South Wales will have the rest of the pack hot on their heels and trying to take the title after taking it out in 2017.
