The line-ups are locked in for the 2025 Australian U16 and U21 Speedway Championships, with four titles up for grabs at Albury-Wodonga’s Diamond Park precinct on December 12-13.
The four championships are as follows:
- 2025 Australian Speedway U21 Championship;
- 2025 Australian Speedway U16 250cc Championship;
- 2025 Australian Speedway U16 125cc Championship; and
- 2025 Australian Speedway U16 125cc Teams’ Championship.
All four will reunite for the first time since Tamworth in 2023, at a track which has hosted top-tier Australian Speedway Championship rounds over the last three years.
The rosters, selected by Motorcycling Australia’s Track Commission, all pack a punch, with the U21 field including Mitchell McDiarmid, James Pearson and Tate Zischke, who finished third for Team Australia in the 2025 FIM Speedway of Nations2. McDiarmid was also 14th in the SON2 solo world championship.
The U16 250cc field includes Albury’s very own Cooper Antone and Ky Mitchell, who have been keen junior rivals for many years, while Antone will defend both U16 125cc championships – solo and teams’ – he won in Kingaroy last year.
The U16 125cc solo field features four riders returning from 2024, with the balance filled by the next wave of junior speedway aspirants.

The 125cc U16 solo event will be held on the Friday, followed by a super Saturday featuring the U16 125cc teams’ battle and the U16 250cc and U21 championships.
