The dominance of Jack Holder continued at round three of the Australian Speedway Championship at Mildura, again reigning supreme under lights at Olympic Park on January 7 to cement himself as the man to beat with one round remaining.

The 29-year-old was first to the flag in the final ahead of Rohan Tungate, Jaimon Lidsey and Keynan Rew, the in-form rider moving out to a 4pt lead over Lidsey on the points tally ahead of the final round at Gillman on January 9.

Tungate remains in third overall on 43pts from Zach Cook (32pts) and Rew rounding out the top five on 27pts.

The top three from Mildura (L to R): Tungate, Holder and Lidsey

Holder and Lidsey earned their places in the final courtesy of being the highest points scorers from the 20 heats, while Rew and Tungate contested the final as a result of being victorious in semi final one and two respectively.

Holder, the Australian Speedway champion of 2023, has now put himself in the best possible position to make it title No.2 and wrap it up with a clean sweep of victories.

“As good as it is winning all three thus far, I don’t have much of a lead, but I’m stoked,” he said. “It was a red-hot one and a survival of the fittest out there.

“Friday will be a new night and with this heat it’s bloody ridiculous, but we’ll now wash the bikes and get ready for the final round.”
